Overview

Although you may enjoy drinking tea and coffee, eating berries or tomatoes, or using tobacco, these are often the biggest causes of dental discoloration and stains. To address this, our team at Finest City Dental offers an effective solution for patients who wish to enhance their teeth. We provide Zoom whitening treatments at our San Diego, CA practice. General dentist Dr. Nick Dovey is happy to offer the increasingly popular Zoom WhiteSpeed and QuickPro, as well as the KOR whitening system. Depending on your goals, available time, and budget, Dr. Dovey can help you select the Zoom method that is ideal for you. To maintain or enhance your new bright smile, Dr. Dovey also provides Zoom home whitening treatments.

Best Candidates

Your Zoom procedure at Finest City Dental will be chosen and personalized to give you your ideal results. For quick results, QuickPro is great at removing surface stains caused by drinks, foods, and tobacco products. WhiteSpeed also treats surface enamel stains, but it can also address discoloration caused by certain medications and aging. At your first appointment, Dr. Dovey will examine your teeth and help you select which process best matches your goals and needs. You could also want home whitening kits: Zoom DayWhite or NiteWhite. Your at-home Zoom treatment may be performed either separately from or following your professional treatment to enhance and refresh your outcome.

What To Expect

If you want either WhiteSpeed or QuickPro, you can plan your treatment so that it follows your cleaning at Finest City Dental. This will eliminate tartar and plaque so the whitening treatment is evenly applied to your teeth. As soon as your teeth are clean and dry, your gums will be covered before the process starts. For QuickPro, the enamel is painted with whitening varnish and then covered with a sealant for protection. After the enamel has been evenly treated, you may go home. After about 30 minutes, you will be asked to brush your teeth to remove the varnish.

For WhiteSpeed, a whitening gel will be painted on your enamel. As soon as the enamel is evenly coated, a light will activate the stain removal treatment. These steps will be performed three times, lasting around 45 minutes in total. This initial gel will be cleaned off of your enamel before a final gel is placed to reduce sensitivity and fortify your teeth.

Follow-Up

Dr. Dovey can go over post-treatment steps to take care of your teeth following your whitening treatment. The best way to maintain your results is to adhere to a good oral care regimen at home with frequent flossing, brushing, and mouthwash rinsing. Scheduling cleanings at Finest City Dental can also help to remove stains from your teeth and keep your mouth clean. You should try to limit your consumption of staining drinks and foods (as well as tobacco use) if you'd like your enamel to stay white. You could enhance your results with at-home whitening kits or schedule another treatment in our office when needed.

Insurance Coverage

Zoom treatment is a non-medical procedure so it's not commonly covered by your dental insurance company. At your initial appointment with Dr. Nick Dovey, he can explain your choices and help you choose the procedure that best matches your cosmetic goals and budget. Dr. Dovey will also discuss the payment methods we accept and low-interest medical financing to make your Zoom whitening treatment more affordable.
